It’s about time that we rip men’s fashion at the seams. As the idea of “dressing your gender” slowly bleeds away, people with penises, particularly in the United States, are beginning to have a fashion uprising. Fuck your rigid idea of masculinity, that suggests I have limited pool of clothing styles to pull from, when it comes to expressing myself through fashion.  The modern day hipster is the steppingstone to a new world of fashion for male bodies.

Today, I’d like to examine the Jumpsuit. To simplify things, I’m including rompers in this round up.

I personally love the idea of being stylish, and yet only wearing one article of clothing. The simplicity of the jumpsuit, especially when fitted and styled seems especially fresh, because it’s something men weren’t being offered for some time and I think in the back of the minds of men everywhere was a tinge of jealousy. We haven’t had this opportunity since we were children, for the most part. But, now we are grown and sexy and are wardrobe just expanded.

The simplicity of the jumpsuit makes it easily casual or dressed up, depending on your choice of shoes and accessories. You can wear these for almost any occasion.

OshKosh B’gosh… remember them? That’s who made my overalls when I was a wee lad. But, now I’m grown… and I think I want them back. Call it a quarter life crisis, but they’re kinda comfy and, on days I feel like being a little more revealing, are already a complete outfit. I’m sure you’ve seen adults wearing overalls around town, most notably women, society is set up for women’s fashion escapades to be more widely accepted… mostly because they’re under the heteronormative gaze of men who are trying to sleep with them? I don’t know,, but my question is, overalls; tres chic or no?

Look how super cas (casual) they can be… Running late for class? Want to look cute, but no time to think. Throw some overalls on!

Meeting friends for lunch and they’re bringing a special somebody they might be trying to hook you up with? Don’t wanna look like you’re trying to hard? But, want to give off that, “I’m different” kind of vibe? Thrown on some overalls!

Helping a friend move and then going out for drinks? But, no time to change? Girl, you better throw on some overalls!

There are about a million different ways to wear them. So, what do you think, tres chic, or no?

Up until recently, I never considered wearing anything remotely resembling sweats in public. Mostly because my parents raised me to think that because I’m brown, people read sweats on me as poor or thug… Anyway… I started seeing hotties on the streets wearing more stylish sweats and it got me to thinking, I should rim guys more often I think I could really get with that look. So, I went to Urban Outfitters and spent $100 on sweatpants…. This was over a year ago, I’m still coping with that decision… and still wearing the pants. What do you think of the athleisure look?

I’ve loved skirts since I was a child. When I was really young, I could stretch the neck of a t-shirt to fit around my waste and when no one was home, I would walk around the house like it was a skirt. As an adult, I’ve considered wearing skirts, but never came across one that fits me the way I’d like. But, I realize “I never came across” one, because I wasn’t actively looking. Why wasn’t I actively looking? I was afraid. I allowed my parents and peers to inspire fear in my heart that I wouldn’t be accepted. But, I’m two years from 30, I’ve been naked on stage, hell, I’ve performed in heels, what the hell do I care if someone in Starbucks is offended by me wearing a skirt?

Luckily there are awesome people in this world to offer me and those like me, some much needed inspiration!
Take this example. It’s got an “out of the matrix” feel to it. Bohemian almost. Very casual, comfortable, and loose. I like that. I’m always worried there will be the noticeable hump from my man parts and there is nothing more distracting than talking to someone and noticing them continue to look down at your crotch… maybe talking to someone and noticing them look down at your boobs?

I like this, it’s an updated suit.
